How to get to Zengcheng (Guangzhou)?
The easiest way to get to Guangzhou is by plane: Guangzhou Baiyun Airport has an extensive route network offering domestic and international air service. From the airport to Zengcheng can be reached by bus. The trip takes an hour and a half and costs around RMB 50.

From Hong Kong Airport you can go to Guangzhou by bus (220-250 HKD) or ferry (one and a half hours, up to 400 HKD).

From more distant cities in China, in addition to the plane, Guangzhou can also be reached by train: it takes 7 hours from Shanghai, 8 hours from Beijing, 4 hours from Nanning.

You can get to Zengcheng from downtown Guangzhou by bus from 7 a.m. at 9 p.m. For example, a trip from Tianhe Bus Station takes about an hour and a half and costs RMB 16.

How to get around Zengcheng (Guangzhou)?
We recommend buying a prepaid Lingnan Pass – Yang Cheng Tong public transport card. It costs RMB 70 (including RMB 20 as a deposit) and can be used on the subway, buses, some taxis, and even vending machines and phone booths. It is available at subway stations and 7-Eleven stores.

Guangzhou has an extensive metro system. The stations are described and announced in Chinese and English. The fee ranges from 2 to 19 RMB (using Lingnan Pass is cheaper). Zengcheng operates two lines: 13 and 21.

Most taxi drivers have poor English, so we recommend preparing the destination information in Chinese characters. The taxi fare starts at RMB 10 for the first 2.3 km, then it is RMB 2.6 for each kilometer.
